Battery Giant is helping to give back to the local community with the sponsorship of Beaumont’s Children’s Hospital’s 2012 E-Clutter for Kids Recycle-a-thon.

The Battery Giant location in Rochester Hills has always been a drop off point for local battery recycling. On Saturday April 21 and Sunday April 22nd, Battery Giant will expand its efforts to collect E-waste and donate the proceeds to raise scholarship funds for Beaumont Children’s Center for the treatment of Speech and Language Disorders.

The scholarship program aids children between the ages of 12 months to 14 years who have speech and language impairments due to such conditions as a cleft palate, autism, downs syndrome, or a traumatic brain injury. Beaumont’s specialized Speech and Language Pathologists help the children achieve their maximum communicative, functional and social potential.

The recycle-a-ton will run from 8am until 8pm at the Battery Giant location at 1178 Walton Boulevard in Rochester Hills. The community is welcome to do some spring cleaning and drop off all their E-waste items such as car batteries, cell phones, digital cameras, computers, printers, stereo equipment, washers and dryers, scrap steel and more. (TV’s are not accepted). Tax deduction forms will also be provided.

Battery Giant Franchise owner, Jim Annessa, shares his perspective: “Battery Giant is pleased to assist the Beaumont Hospital network and this recycling charity event and supporting the effort to collect expired batteries and other related products and electronics and give back to the communities we do business in. We look forward to meeting donators on Saturday and Sunday at our Battery Giant location in Rochester Hills.”

Battery Giant Franchise, LLC announces its commitment to continue their focus on enhancing the company’s green battery recycling efforts in 2012, encouraging businesses and consumers to make green business and environmental sustainability a priority in the year ahead.

Sterling Heights, MI (PRWEB) January 05, 2012 — Entering its fourth year in business, Battery Giant Franchise, LLC announces its commitment to continue their focus on enhancing the company’s green battery recycling efforts in 2012. “Battery Giant is committed to grow the percent of batteries recycled in the appropriate ways through its strategic relationship with East Penn Manufacturing and partnering with franchisees that accept our green approach to the battery business as we expand our presence throughout the country,” states Greg Danziger, President of Battery Giant.

Currently through its eleven locations in five states and its affiliate company, Battery Giant recycles approximately one million pounds of lead through battery parts annually. The company also has a relationship with Call2Recycle, a program that recycles rechargeable batteries and cell phones throughout North America. The program provides collection boxes to Battery Giant store locations for drop off of old batteries, encouraging consumers and businesses to participate in green business and environmental sustainability efforts.

A core aspect and key objective to Battery Giant’s mission is their environmentally friendly battery recycling efforts. Batteries collected for recycling through the Call2Recycle program are delivered to the recycling facility. The facility recovers precious metals from the old batteries and new batteries and stainless steel products are developed. Cell phones are either refurbished and resold, or recycled. None of the recycled battery material ever sees a landfill. Battery Giant will continue to promote green battery recycling as one of their top priorities in the year ahead.

About Battery Giant
Headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, the company currently operates eleven franchised retail locations in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Arizona, and Florida. They carry a wide range of replacement batteries and battery products, plus offer an energizing opportunity for franchise ownership in the ever- expanding battery market.
With a focus on the environment, Battery Giant helps consumers recycle their rechargeable batteries and old cell phones by conveniently offering free recycling at each of their franchise store locations. They are proud to provide their customers with the most innovative, efficient, and knowledgeable solutions available along with friendly customer service.

New store owners Dave and Janeen Tometich said the day was a tremendous success, and was a top performer for sales revenue for a grand opening day within the chain of Battery Giant locations for 2011.

December 20, 2011 — Battery Giant Franchise, LLC celebrated the official grand opening of Arizona’s first franchise store on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The day was a tremendous success according to new store owners and partners, Dave and Janeen Tometich, and Ron Savage. “It was such a perfect and exciting day! The weather couldn’t have been any better, and it was great to see such an amazing turnout for this area. We have already seen return customers from our grand opening day that have expressed their loyalty to Battery Giant and our store,” said the Tometich’s. The partners selected the prime storefront location of 2880 E. Germann Rd, Suite 11 in Chandler, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix, for their new Battery Giant store.

With former ties to the Midwest, Dave and Janeen bring their combined employment skills and experiences to their new business. Dave has a background in the battery industry and will function as Partner and DC Power Specialist at the store, while Janeen will oversee all company marketing initiatives as the Marketing Manager. “They have certainly assembled an excellent team, and this team will really make a difference in the battery retail business in Phoenix. They have a great location supported by a knowledgeable team with great products and the retail knowhow – truly a recipe for success,” states Kurt H. Smith, CEO of Battery Giant, who was in attendance for the grand opening day celebration.

The Chandler store set a new record high of 75 watch battery replacements for a single day at their grand opening, and was a top performer for sales revenue for a grand opening day within the chain of Battery Giant locations for 2011. Store Manager, Tomica Duvall commented, “I could not have asked for a better day. It was incredibly rewarding to have so many people within the community take time from their day to celebrate this moment with us.” Philanthropically minded, the Chandler store team also decided to raise money for the Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development during the grand opening day celebration. In addition to the money raised, they also donated 18% of their net opening day sales to the charity. Tumbleweed serves troubled, neglected, and abused at-risk youth in the Phoenix community.

Sterling Heights, MI – September 15, 2011

Battery Giant is proud to call Michigan home. An emerging franchisor in the growing battery industry, they are a Michigan born and based company that continues to see growth and success despite the tough economic climate here. According to Kurt Smith, CEO of Battery Giant, “Our stores are hitting or exceeding their projected revenue marks in the first year of operation.” The sales success is largely due to the company’s exceptional customer service and the fact that there will always be a demand for batteries of all types and sizes. Battery Giant provides entrepreneurs, hesitant about the market in this uncertain economy, with a solid recession-resistant business opportunity.

Owned and operated by battery professionals, Battery Giant offers a unique business model. 50 percent of the sales come from commercial business, and the remaining 50 percent from the franchise retail market, providing a balanced revenue stream. Since they are not a franchise holding company, Battery Giant can offer a lower franchise start-up fee, and a very favorable royalty structure using the stair-step approach to royalty, which is based on franchisees total sales volume. “We try harder because we’re not the biggest, just working to be the best in our class and our success truly depends upon the franchisees’ success”, says Smith.

Premium markets are available for entrepreneurs looking to partner with Battery Giant. The number of franchised businesses nationwide is set to grow about 2.5 percent this year over last year, as franchise growth continues to exceed other business sectors such as finance and construction, according to the International Franchise Association. Currently there are over 825,000 franchised businesses in the U.S. responsible for creating 18 million jobs and generating 2.1 trillion dollars to the economy. “We look forward to partnering with ambitious business owners that can understand the significant opportunity Battery Giant represents,” says Battery Giant President, Greg Danziger.

Enthusiastic about the opportunities the battery industry has to offer for enterprising entrepreneurs, Danziger speaks confidently and optimistically about the Battery Giant opportunity. “As Michigan’s, and the rest of our country’s economy continues to fight through our financial challenges, there is a bright spot and tremendous opportunity in this growth market of batteries for our customers to consolidate their battery purchases with Battery Giant, and for entrepreneurs to consider our growing franchise network in population centers where consumer and commercial battery specialists are in demand.”

About Battery Giant

Headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Battery Giant currently operates several franchised retail locations in Michigan, Illinois, Arizona, Florida and Ohio. Battery Giant carries a wide range of replacement batteries and products for over 100,000 electronic devices, plus offers an electrifying business opportunity for franchise ownership in the ever-expanding battery market. With more than a decade of service in retail battery sales, wholesale distribution, telecom engineering, stand-by power systems, and mobile equipment power, Battery Giant provides the most innovative and cost-effective solutions along with fast, friendly and knowledgeable customer service.

Each week, we get a number of calls from parents looking for a replacement battery or charger for their child’s Power Wheels riding toy. The first question we ask is, “How old is the toy?” Often the answer is that the toy was purchased at a garage sale, or was given to them by a family member or friend. There is a good reason why we ask this question. Back in 1998, a Federal recall was issued on all Mattel, Inc. Power Wheels riding toys housing the 12 volt red battery with white connector. It was discovered that the connection from the battery to the car was overheating, causing serious safety concerns for parents. Subsequently, the recall was issued on all riding toys with red batteries; however, the green or blue 6 volt batteries with white connectors did not fall under this recall.

As a result of this recall, Mattel, Inc. designated authorized Power Wheels service centers where store owners and employees are trained to retrofit the toy cars with tested and approved replacement connectors, plus perform any maintenance or warranty issues on the toys. When the riding toys are brought in for recall to one of the authorized service centers, the old style white connectors on the red 12 volt batteries are replaced with new style black connectors, along with the battery if needed. If you happen to purchase a used riding toy and it has the red battery with black connector, the recall work has already been done for you. If you already own or buy a riding toy with a green or blue battery, there is no known issue with safety and replacement batteries and chargers can be purchased.

Currently Battery Giant has several stores designated as Power Wheels authorized service centers for replacement connectors under the recall, with more stores planning to offer this service in the near future. Replacement batteries and chargers can also be purchased online or at any of our other Battery Giant store locations. Please call or visit Battery Giant, for all your toy car service needs, including recall and warranty issues, tune-ups, parts, and replacement batteries and chargers. Visit www.mattel.com to find an authorized service center near you. For more information about the 1998 recall, please visit http://service.mattel.com/us/recall.asp.

At Battery Giant we’re big on safety especially when it comes to our kids. Happy riding!
